Fees
Child Care Fees Include:
After questions from families in the community who are currently looking for child care. I decided to take a few minutes and help families to realize what is included in what you pay for child care. I hope this is helpful.
What you pay to the child care will guarantee highest quality child care, nutritious meals & snacks, and a safe, nurturing environment for your child. Your child care fees provide my income including the taxes and the social security, which I pay in. Your fees pay for special child care insurance, my training so that I am better able to help guide your child, substitutes, food, paper products, soap and cleaning supplies, first aid training and supplies, toys, play equipment, baby equipment, art and craft supplies, water, oil, electric, sewer and more, nap mats, special chairs & furniture, strollers, lots of repairs and wear and tear, entertainments expenses, paperwork & supplies, parties and special events, and all of the other things that your child will use.

Like other self-employed workers, Family Child Care providers do not receive the benefits many employers take for granted. These include health/dental insurance, life insurance, retirement/pension, workers comp., unemployment insurance. These benefits often amount to as much as 35% of a person's wages.

Family child care is a blessing to your family in that your children will have much more individual attention and opportunities for learning, and much less illness than a center care.

Unlike other forms of self-employment family child care is very restrictive in that there is no room for growth. The STATE dictates the size of my business. I cannot take time for appointments or obligations without careful planning and covering my responsibilities. To protect my rights and income, you will find that a guaranteed wage is part of my contract. To protect precious time with my family you will find early / late fee's in my contract. Most people have a 40-hour workweek. Mine is a 60 hours and up that does not include my training, preparation, booking, paperwork, shopping or cleaning time. I really do not want the extra fees, but it is imperative that you understand my responsibilities to my family , and my own children as well.

I hope this gives you a better understanding about all the ways in which your tuition fees are applied.
